AT MVM, OUR CONSIGNMENT PROGRAM IS CALLED
"CONSIGNMENT BY INVITATION". HERE'S WHY...
At Modern Vintage Marketplace, we operate a Consignment by Invitation program. We chose this model because it creates the best outcome for everyone involved. Consignors typically receive approximately 4x more than they would through an outright purchase offer, while shoppers enjoy a constantly changing selection of unique, high-quality items.
We are living through a unique time in history. Baby Boomers are downsizing while younger generations are increasingly valuing the quality and craftsmanship of vintage and antique items. As a result, we receive far more consignment requests than we can accommodate and are only able to accept about 5–10% of the items offered to us. This allows us to maintain a carefully curated inventory of unique, high-quality pieces. For items we cannot accept, we provide guidance to local nonprofit organizations where your items can be donated, giving them a second life while helping keep usable goods out of the landfill and benefiting the local community.
How the Consignment by Invitation program works:
Before Submission
- All consignment items must be approved in advance.
- Please do not bring items to the store for consideration without prior approval.
- We are currently focusing on specific categories of items and may not consider items outside those categories. What we are "seeking" can be found below on this page.
Submitting Items for Consideration
- Text photos and descriptions to 720-648-0207 or email consign@mvmretail.com.
- Items must be in good condition with no cracks, chips, tears, stains, or similar damage.
- Even if photos are shown to us in the store, they must still be submitted by text or email to begin the approval process.
- Please allow up to two weeks for a response due to the volume of requests.
If Your Items Are Approved
- Schedule a drop-off appointment Tuesday through Fridays.
- Items must be clean, including glassware, clothing, and containers such as salt and pepper shakers.
- Please do not polish silver, brass, copper, or similar metals; a simple wipe-down is sufficient. Most buyers WANT the original patina.
- Pack items in a box or bag that does not need to be returned.
- Please allow up to 30 days for researching, cataloging, and pricing.
- A complete inventory and pricing summary will be emailed once processing is complete.

Before taking a gander at the list below, please note that we will always accept vinyl records. We are redesigning and upgrading the Music Lounge at MVM and would love to consign your records to help boost our inventory during this expansion. Specifically we are looking for Rock, Classic Rock, and Folk from approximately 1965 to current. You can bring in vinyl records any weekday between 11a and 5pm. |

Music, Pop Culture & Memorabilia: classic rock vinyl (1965–1995), signed vinyl, concert tees, vintage instruments (especially electric guitars), and music accessories.
Vintage & Antique Glassware: fairy lamps, hen dishes, bee dishes, uranium glass, swung vases & other SUPER unique pieces. The more interesting, the better! Vintage Clothing & Wearables: Levis denim, vintage Ralph Lauren, JNCO, era‑specific pieces from the 20s–80s, specialty shoes. Men’s vintage clothing that screams the decade it's from (think leisure suits, bellbottoms, etc.)! Vintage Disney Collectibles: ceramic figurines made in Japan, anything Haunted Mansion, pins.. Military, Historical & Institutional: pre 1900 bibles, military/police/fire memorabilia & uniforms, WWI/WWII/Vietnam Era items. Sports Memorabilia: vintage Avalanche/Broncos/Nuggets items, vintage ski gear (1940’s & older), antique golf collectibles, hickory shaft golf clubs.. Electronics, Media & Gaming: (all must be tested and working) like vintage consoles (Atari, NES, N64, GameCube) and game cartridges, record players, Sony Walkmans, 1980s Polaroid cameras, 1999-2010 working cameras (digital or film), "Earth 2 DVD". |
Kitchen & Household Collectibles: colored PYREX in excellent condition, ceramic egg-holders, vintage whimsical salt & pepper shakers, and kitchen novelty items.
Jewelry & Accessories: vintage rings, whimsical/novelty purses, designer/unique bags & purses (especially Coach), vanity mirror trays, vintage compact mirrors, cowboy hats, antique watches. Toys, Books & Games: vintage hackysacks, Ouija or "mystic" boards, chess sets, backgammon boards, mahjong sets, Goosebumps/Fear Street books. Transportation & Brand Memorabilia: Harley Davidson, Indian motorcycles, Jeep, VW, Ford, Chevy branded items. Porcelain signs and gas station signs. Smoking, Bar & Adult Collectibles: unique ashtrays, pedal and standing ashtrays, vintage bar paraphernalia, cigarette carousels, cigarette cases, desktop lighters (must be working), bar signs, neon signs, bar carts.. THINGS WE'RE NOT LOOKING FOR...
Here's our list of items we're not looking for. Stated as politely as we can -some items are just too common or don't fit our vibe. Others historically don't seem to sell in our shop. To save you a trip and avoid an awkward “no thank you”, please check this list before asking to consign that special item.

Specialized Collectibles -While we appreciate the value and enthusiasm surrounding collectible categories such as comic books, trading cards, coins, and stamps, these highly specialized markets require dedicated expertise, authentication, and valuation processes that fall outside our current focus. As a result, we are not accepting these categories for consignment or purchase at this time.

THINGS WE'D LOVE TO TAKE AS DONATIONS...
Have something cool that's collecting dust? We're all ears! Some items may not be right for consignment but are perfect as donations to be loved again. Whether it's delightfully odd, retro, or simply too charming to toss, we'd happily rehome it—and thank you with vintage karma points. While we are not a nonprofit or a donation-to-sale store, we understand that sometimes you want to give those special items a new life in a space that’s community-driven, without all the red tape and bureaucracy of the big box stores. Your donations are put to good use through repurposing, upcycling, crafty classes, or passing them directly to those in need. It’s all part of our mission to keep cool stuff out of landfills and into loving hands—while also helping our local community thrive.
